The championship, 250-acre Santaluz Golf Course takes every advantage of the community's ocean views and expansive topography flowing through rolling hills with fairways intertwined with native landscape on slopes following the natural flow of the terraine. This land was shaped over millions of years and architect Rees Jones has designed this course as an extension of all that has been and all that is destined to come.

Rees Jones designed the course with the intention of giving golf a concept. To achieve this, he elevated tees when possible, graded fairways and added bunkers, pockets and berms or mounds. He used naturally appearing features to help contain slightly errant shots and provide a variety of approach shots. The site has a number of "signature holes" all diverse and memorable in their own way from which a golfer can watch his ball against a variety of contrasts. Jones worked closely with landscape architecture firm Wimmer Yamada and Caughey to create a landscaping plan that complements the fairways and greens with a natural minimalist approach. | |
